I've been "Photoshop-atised"!

Hi all! I'm back to this moulding blog again! Just recalled that i hava a blog..haha! Actually, i'm jus plain too lazy to blog down my days. Well, i'm have been leading a peaceful life since the start of year 2008, though it din started well at the beginning of the year. But who cares, it's all in the past! Wat matters is i'm happy now!

Guess wat?! I have recently started to learn how to use Photoshop 7.0. To many of you, it might be something so simple and have already used it for zillion times, and perhaps feel that it's already an outdated version or there's other newer types of design softwares. But spare a thought for "kuku" ppl like me who dun even know the basic of Photoshop. Nevertheless, i'm going to learn through online tutorials! In fact, i already started..hee!

Show u my practices....

Making use of the Magic Wand to get rid of the background and this is wat i get ... ...

Based of wat i have learnt so far, i decided to create a simple packaging design for the food product :Sunflower Oil" since i'm using a flower in my practices ... ...

Aiyoyo! Realised that i haven't created a brand name for this product...haha! Nvm, it's just for FUN! Though this packaging design is simple, but it's a little achievement i get from wat i have learnt so far! hehe...

Ok...so how's my day? Well woke up early today and had nice breakfast - some bread and "mee hun kuey". High Carbohydrate Food!! I love breads, especially with kaya and butter spread..wooyeah! Sinful! Luckily i had green tea to go with. Den had my bath. Wanted to go shopping wif mum but she was quite relunctant as the weather outside was so warm!! Boo! Stupid weather...my room feels like an oven! Even air blown out from air-con dun feel cool..argh~! i'm melting...i'm falling sick -_-'''

So today, i shall stay home and continue to explore photoshop! heyhey! But i need new clothes! I need replenish new stock in my wardrobe! So....tmr i'm going kbox with my "sisters" in the morning at cineleisure, den go shopping alone since they have dinner wif family after that! Poor me..aiya who cares! I'm an independent women....shopping alone is always more fruiful! =X Hopefully, tmr i can buy loads of clothes! =D

Summary of my Life for the past few months....

Omg! My blog's moulding!! it's time to liven it up with new interesting pics! ha...been lazy to blog and jus realised nobody left any msg on my tagboard too =X. Anyway, it's time to blog since i'm slacking at home again this weekend! Been spending most of my time working in the cosy lab of SCML trying to develop and improve new products, as well as maintaining the quality of the company's products by conducting daily cup tests. Sounds professional and sophisticated isn't it?! yeah.."interesting" job i have got huh =X.

okay, in the following entries i shall TRY HARD to recall how i have spent my life for the past 4 months.....(forget abt the dates coz i barely could rem when they took place...hee!)

Hmm....during July i think, i recieved jasmine's baby first month's gift (man yue li wu). It was my first time recieving such gifts and i find it very special. The rest of the department recieved red eggs and ang gu kueh and only our department get to have the customised cupcakes. It was very sweet of her and it shows how much she doted on us! haha! Below are the customised cupcakes and the traditional red eggs and ang gu kueh. Awe...! So sweet...next time i also wanna order for my baby..haha!

As the saying goes, "Never judge a book by its cover, never judge a person by his look." The cupcakes may look appealing and delicious, but they are not as nice as they appeared to be. The chocolate sponge cake itself tastes dry and bland. The icing tops may add appeal to the cakes but they actually spoil the overall taste. The icings causes the cakes to be overly sweetened till it's abit artificial.

Up next, I would like to share with you the home-made cheese cake baked by my colleauge serene from SCML. She also have a great passion in baking and often likes to apply what she have learnt in her past baking classes into creating her own recipe! Below are the cheese cake she baked for us! Yummy!

Home-made cheese cake with chocolate chips toppings

I love her cheese cakes because the texture is smooth and creamy which contributes to very good mouthfeel, unlike some commercial ones which breaks apart and dispersed in the mouth the moment you bite! In terms of taste, i think it's quite balanced as in sourness, sweetness and saltiness all blends well togather. Oya and i especially like the base because it's not very sweet yet tasty and fragrant which compliments well with the sourish cheese cream. The evenly browned top adds more appeal to the cheese cake. It's really yummy! Though i got the recipe from her, i doubt i can bake one that tastes as nice as hers coz baking cheese cake is really not my forte! hee!

Hmm...i think i will blog till here coz i'm abit tired and gg to have my dinner soon. By the way, i have been trying to recall what i have learnt during my guitar lessons which i had during my last semester of my poly yrs (almost half a yr ago..haha!). I could hardly remember any..hee! Thank god i still have the two guitar books for beginners with me. They were given to me by my sec sch friends as birthday presents. Hmm..but i have a hard time trying to figure out how the rythms and beatings works. It's kind of complicating to someone like me who has no music background. Is/Are there any kind souls would like to offer me with some help?! =D .....oya! one more thg, i have jus been offered with "something" which might affect my life. But i shall only disclose it to my close frens when everything has been confirmed. hee! Looking forward to this thur coz it's PH! Good nite! Look out for more updates....! =D

Dessert House at Tao Payoh

Hello everybody! I'm back with some updates....hee! I would like recommend this dessert house in Tao Payoh which i have patronised...hmm..think 3 mths ago....As there's only two aunties (most probably the mum and aunt) and two young man (i guess they are the sons) in the shop, i guess this is a small family business...

The small dessert shop sells a variety of traditional chinese desserts such as Zhi Ma Hu (Sesame Paste), Xin Ren Hu (Almond Paste) and Hua Sheng Hu (Peanut paste). Other desserts which are not commonly known in Singapore includes Xin Ren Zheng Dan (Almond steamed egg), Dou Ren Tang and red bean glutinous rice dessert (these two i'm not sure what they exactly consists of =X). The shop also sells traditional chinese snacks such as Ruo Zhong (Pork Dumplings), Luo Mi Fan (Glutinous Rice) and Yu Tou Gao (Yam cake).

Desserts and snacks ranges between $2 and $3. Most of the desserts are priced at $2.50. I feel that the price are quite reasonable, considering that the ingredients used are quite expensive and that the desserts are "zhen cai shi liao" that is not diluted. I also like the idea of serving the desserts using "little tonic pots"! It gives me the feeling like i'm a rich tai tai eating some expensive tonic...haha! =P

I had the peanut paste. Sweetness is just nice and paste is smooth and viscous! Portion size is also appropriate for a small eater like me!

My mum ordered barley with ginko nuts (pics above). Just like the peanut paste, this dessert is not over sweetened and the barley bits goes well with the ginko nuts. Some nutritional facts to mention about, ginko nuts are very good for brain! =D so eat more!

In terms of service...well not much to comment as i do not expect much from a small dessert shop located at a HDB area. Perhaps the service crew should try to put on a smiley face. And they can improve their service by trying to recommend their specialities or suggesting to their customers according to their preferences. They could also explain to them what each dessert consists of, especially those less common ones which could be quite unknown to the locals.

Since the desserts are not very sweet and that they are very nutritious, i believe that elderly will like them! Young people, especially women! Try them as most of the desserts are very good for complexion!

I have been to HK....Cafe!

hi readers! i'm backed to update my blog! Huven been blogging becoz of the upgrading work that was going on in my flat for the past two weeks...finally me and my family had braved through the two weeks of nightmare! It was really torturing to use the small mobile toilet tat had been situated in my kitchen and wat's worse! I have to bath cold water that was so icy in the nite when i got home from work. I was even more depressed when my period came and i had to bare wif all the back pains, stomach cramps and bloating. Ya..for those who know me well will be aware that i have a weak stomach that is always torturing me especially after meals! Okay...enough of complaints! As the saying goes "Xian Ku Hou Tien", now my house is so beautiful and all the colours blend with each other so well...hmm....my family have good colour sense! Hey i'm not bragging...my kpo neighbours who came to tour around my flat during the upgrading period also sang praises about how wonderful my house looks! hohoho! I feel so fortunate to have parents with modernised mindcept! =D

On friday, i met up wif two pretty gals lani and eeling, and one handsome man kit...haha..-_-"' They are those few poly friends who can click wif me even though we led a very different lifestyle and sometimes, very different interest. But one thing for sure, we are food science students who loves to hunt for delicious food! yeah! Initially, we decided on Pastamania, but dunno y in the end we strolled along orchard wondering wat to eat. Feeling hungry and desperate for food, we ended up in HK Cafe at cineleisure which was our starting point! haha..ya all thanks to MK lor! Well...it was my first time at HK Cafe..hmm...i quite like the interior design and image it is trying to bring out...it was very HK-style (ya..obviously..hee!), the utensils were displayed on the dining tables, plates and bowls used were very "hawker" or rather "road-side" style. If given a chance, i would perfer sitting at the round and half enclosed table with a lamp above...but too bad, it was too packed. We were lucky to be given a table as soon as we reached there. Okay..back to the food...i ordered sweet and sour chicken spagethi...it was very disappointing! The sauce was too sweet and the chicken had a powdery texture which i really had no idea which ingredient could have contributed to tat?! It wasn't appealing at all...haiz! Besides, I find it not worth the price...i rather have creamy chicken at Pastamania. Lani and I shared the Iced Yue Yang..hmm...not bad...but quite normal lah. I like the idea of using the metal mug to serve the drink...it really gave me the feeling of dining in HK! I only took pics of the food i ordered...hee...was too hungry to take others...the rest is wif lani..

For those who like to experience eating in a HK-style cafe or road-side food style, try out Hong Kong Cafe. But that's provided if you are willing to pay for food that is not worth that much! Oya...some of the waitresses are not very friendly so if dun mind poor service den try out this food outlet! =X

Shall update more on other food outlets which i have patronised for the past few weeks...but not now coz i'm down wif flu and sore throat...am too lazy to continue blogging...will be back soon! May i have a speedy recovery!

*To Lani: Hey gal, if u happened to read my blog, pls spare some time to upload the pics we have taken at HK Cafe and send me k...hee..thanks! =D

Qing ming jie = rainy days

These two weeks have been termed by the Chinese as "Qing Ming Jie" where most families will wake up very early in the morning and gather together at the ancestors' tomb to "sao mu". On Sunday morning, together with my parents, sister, as well as my future brother-in-law, Jeff, we went to pay our respect to my grandparents. The place was along Aljunied Rd....wow! There was really a lot of people....traffic was extremely slow. The slight drizzling worsened the situation on the road! well...at least it was quite cooling! hee! After that, my sis and jeff rushed off to work while my parents and I decided to go to parkway since my mum had been longing to go there and shop! hmm...i really feel there's nthg much to shop at parkway leh! dotz!

oh yeah....papa treated mum and I with seafood plater at Fish & Co! Hey hey...OUR favorite! My family has strong preference to dine at Fish & Co..Yup...papa ordered fresh oyster too! Yucks...i dun like raw food!! Below are pics taken at Fish&Co...well my intention was to only to take pics of the fresh attention-seeking Mr. Oyster! Oyeah...i also took video of the whole process of how u should eat fresh oysters which was demonstrated by my dear father..haha! But i'm not gg to upload here as i dun wanna get into trouble!

Hmm....i feel that in terms of the quality of food (in particular the freshness of ingredients used, taste and presentation) served, it was the same as the other branches which I have patronized before. However, i feel that the service's a bit lack...as in becoz there wasn't enough staff on duty based on my observation, so the "attentiveness" on the customers was not there. For instance, when my dad placed an order for seafood platter and requested it to be served first while he decides on his other choices since we are all very hungry. So..the young waiter was quick and walked off to sent in the order. However, he did not follow up and check on us to see if we wanted to place more orders. Instead, my dad had to ask another waitress to help us place an order...and the waitress looked very puzzled although she nodded and seems to know wat she's supposed to do! To be more assured, my dad requested the previous waiter to place the order instead. Well...so get wat i mean....? But however, there was a tall waiter who left a very good impression in me. He was very attentive. From far, he saw that our plates were full of shells so he brought new plates to replace for us. And he's pretty busy too! Before i left, he greeted me "have a nice day! Hope to see you again!" which i think is super nice. This kind of service is excellent!

Den on sat, i met up with chun and manda to kind of celebrate manda's belated bday. Treated manda to some kind of high end jap restaurant at vivo city! Three cups of dessert cost 20 bucks...oh well oh! The ambiance was not exactly very comfortable....and the ice creams was just normal with limited variety....duh! So we had dessert first before we head down to SuperDog to have our main dinner! haha! SuperDog is a more expensive version of fast food restaurant which sells mostly hotdog buns, burgers and fries. I quite like the layout..and also the type of furnishing it uses. It projects a very modern image...it's just simple and nice lah! I ordered Bacon Chicken Ripper set meal which comes with fries and a 16 oz freshly brewed lemon tea. The bacon chicken ripper was super nice though the skin of the hot dog was very crumbled and slightly unappealing! The crispy bacon toppings and slightly sour tomato puree-dices adds an extra "crunch" and mouth-feel! You can find this particular blogger's food preview at http://youth.sg/blog/2006/11/19/food-review-superdog-vivocity/ which i think would be useful if you wanna find out more on SuperDog! Her website also includes the SuperDog's menus!

It was my virgin visit to Vivo City...oh well oh...i'm a mountain tortoise can! Vivo city is really big man! So spacious! I luv the peak level where it's opened and surrounded by beautiful scenery! Hmm....romantic neh! haha! I kind of miss Sentosa when i was there..hmm! yup...wld love to go vivo city again...anyone interested?! hee!

Hmm...okay...so i'm quite free now...so decided to make a collage using the pics i have taken! I hope that this collage will mark the end of my student life and ....mark the start of a challenging working life ahead...hope my life after 2007 will be a smooth-going yet happening one!! Wish me all the best okay! =D

TRUST

Am I an idiot or what?! I'm already 20 years old and yet i can't differentiate the good and the bad! Am i blind? Why am i always trusting the wrong people?! It really feels shit to know that even ur closest friend seems to be gossiping behind ur back! And i jus realized that some things which i thought nobody knows turns out that EVERYBODY is aware of it...haha..isn't it scary that some people have been quietly updating each other about their friend's recent happenings?!

The greatest weakness about me is that i will still regard people as my friend and be nice to them even though i KNOW they are despicable by nature (oops!) ! But why?! Because i always believe that they will slowly discover the good side in me and cherish me as a friend! And I always give in to my friends because i treasure friendship a lot!! ...though i dun usually show it out. But because of such naive side of me, I feel that I'm always being taken for granted! Its true that I always seems calm when handling people, BUT DO NOT TEST MY PATIENCE! I will make sure i embarrass that devil right in front of everybody if it ever cross my limit!

I also admit that i tend to talk bad about a person when i feel that that person has gone over broad or when i'm in very bad mood. I can't stop myself from speaking ill of anybody whom i dislike.....oh come on! who doesn't do tat?! Even deity do tat too right?! (isn't tat what we saw in the channel 8 drama series about "Niu Lang Zhi Nu"?!) But after the incident has past, i will forget everything and continue to be friends with tat whoever i dislike before! Hmm....except for some people who are just unforgivable! ...Ahem!

Advise to people who are BAD in nature: Dun make yourself sound like an angel when the truth is that you are a devil with fangs (a cross-breed between devil and vampire) ! You can try all ways to pretend to be an angel loved by everybody BUT there will always be a day when your fangs will reveal your identity!!!! =P

....more updates on some bakery products i made for the past few months....will post them when i have the mood to blog again....hee! =P

CHRISTMAS UPDATES_PART 2

ok....as promised...i will blog on how i spent my christmas ..last year!

well...who says Christmas would be boring without boyfriend..oh come on...there's always friends around k! But unfortunately, it ended up only K, R and me were free....ahem! hmm...can't rem wat my sec school buddies were busy wif...probably rushing sch assignments ba! well...this year's christmas falls on our term break..so there's no excuse to why we should not celebrate this festive season rite! so the three of us decided to lunch at Essential Brew at Holland Village (the place where wan wan da jie, jing jing they all stay =x) as highly recommended by our friends and the media. These are the pis we took at the cosy eatery....

...Essential Brew's Menu...

...Chocolate Latte...

...breaded prawns...

R ordered the lemon grass breaded prawns, K ordered baby potatoes while i ordered fried chicken wings. Hmm...to my disappointment, the food wasn't really worth the price. I was very pissed off by the taste of the fried chicken wings. Firstly, it was chicken drumlets and not chicken wings! Secondly, the chicken was tasteless! I swear i can cook better k! The chicken drumlets were not marinated...there's no flavor...they really tasted bland! The only winning point it has is it is crispy and warm! Next, is the lemon grass breaded prawns....it's jus normal prawns with breading and some lemon grass bits blended in it. Ahem...its really ordinary! =(

But i think the tea which R and K ordered was quite nice....Nevertheless, the ambiance was quite cosy and relaxing...definitely a good place to relieve stress and chat with friends. If you dun mind paying more for the ambiance, then i think this is a good place to chill out. But if you are some food critics like me, this might not be the place you wanna go!

Its rating time...!
Menu Presentation: Normal
Ambiance/Layout: Good
Food: Poor~Normal
Service: Good

*The above ratings and comments are based on my personal opinions and likings. Please do not be influenced!

After filling our stomachs, we strolled down the streets of Holland V. Oh i finally saw the windmill! Reminds me of the channel 8 TV series! Nah nah nah...nah nah nah...~~! OOO....almost forgot...K brought us to Provence...the popular Japanese Bakery Shop (some commends about the bakery shop can be found in http://www.can.com.sg/content/neocan/en/archive/spotlight/holland_village/what_you_ll_find_in/holland_village_finds.html) It's really an amazing place filled with aromatic breads, rolls...etc etc that tastes so heavenly! Ooo...i bet people who loves baking or like to eat breads would love this place a lot!! I'm one of them! Hee!

Right after buying some breads for afternoon tea..we went in search for the community center where there's a KTV lounge! haha! I have never been to a CC's KTV lounge...oh man! my first impression of such place is that there's a lot of aunties and ah pek and true enough, there's plenty. But dun underestimate them...they can sing better than us! so we paid for one room and sang for an hour. We even sang "lu pian yi ke" along with them...haha! omg! Its a nice place and they provided very good service nehz!

This was how i spent my last festive season of 2006....hmm...nothing happening or romantic lah..it's jus another day of the year to relax and rest! I hope that Christmas 2007 will be "DIFFERENT"! hey hey! =D

Heya....I'm Back.....! =D

Dear readers, i'm back to to spink-blogging! Ooo...it's been more than two months since i last blog...well...i guess the following entries will be very LONG ones....but rest assure...there will be more pics than words...hee!

Well...i can't believe in this two months, i actually accomplished so many things! CSAS job interview, PDM port folio and product mock-up, Major project report and poster presentation with my lovely teammates, FSM and PDM tests, and lastly some essay write-up! Hohoho....i'm a superwoman manz!

Wee! 22nd Feb 2007 was the day i had my last paper..woohoo....it is the day i had total freedom! I remembered I had kbox session immediately after tat...yeah!

Okay....in the following entries, I will share the happenings in my life for the past two months!

01 January 2007

Happy 2007!

Yoz people! Happy New Year! It 2007! How can i not blog on the first day of 2007?! Must at least squeeze out some time to blog down my resolutions rite...i know it's kind of old fashion to do this here...BUT i wanna write cannot huh!

While most Singaporeans are waiting anxiously at Vivocity and Marina to welcome the new year ahead, i chose to stay at home, sit comfortably on the cosy sofa with my family and watch people countdown..haha =P! I'm too old for count down lah and i hate squeezing in the crowd..you know how disgusting it is to have body contacts with thousand over sweaty bodies?! Used to like such events but now that i'm older, i choose to AVOID!! Moreover, my mind is too loaded with so many undone assignments and it's making me stressed up BUT i just dun have the determination to complete them! Though it's already 2007, i'm still left with so many 2006 assignments! haha! This is what i called INEFFICIENT worker! bleah =P!

Well well well....so wat's my resolutions?! Of course is to find a job upon my graduation! That will be my top priority! Can u believe it....we are graduating in less than 3 months....hohoho! I need a job! Permanent job! I'm becoming a working adult...oh man...I'm aging! Soon i will be 20, 30 den 40 and so on....yucks! i'm picturing myself as a freaky old mate working in the lab....wahaha!

kkk...den of course, i hope to shed down 10 kg and lead a healthy lifestyle. I realised that nothing is more important than having a good health. Without good health, i can't do anythg much in life! Agree? Den lastly, to live life to the fullest! Gonna work and save up, and enjoy life at the same time. I hope to have a more balanced lifestyle!

yup....that's all that i can think of....well...actually who cares about resolutions?! wat's more important is that i'm happy everyday..hehe!

...May Year 2007 (PIGGY YEAR) be a wonderful, and more happening yet peaceful year for everyone!...

Btw, shall post up Christmas Updates_Part 2 when i have the time k...more pics to post!

25 December 2006

Christmas updates....PART 1

CHRISTMAS UPDATES_PART 1

Oooohoo! it's been about a month since i last updated my blog....well...it's been a busy term but still i managed to steal some time out to bake, explore recipes, meet up wif my buddies to eat and crap! Who says crapping is a waste of time?! To me crapping and chatting rubbish is a way to relax...haha! =P

well...today's christmas! but no program for me! some of my frens are at overseas. it's ok...i shall stay at home to finish up things i have not been doing..like...clearing up the mess in my wardrobe and shelves, and watch korean dramas, day-dreaming etc etc! heehee! hmm...i shall enjoy singlehood for as long as i can! haha!

hao de...these are my footprints for the past two months.......

I tried this recipe in my kitchen. It was meant for my FSM lab. This is a Thai dessert known as Mango Glutinous Rice. Glutinous rice is mixed with coconut milk, sugar and salt, and steamed. The sauce is made by caremelizing the brown sugar. Thai mangoes were supposed to be used but i lived too far from golden miles, so i decided to just substitue it with the normal mangoes found in NTUC supermarket. The mangoes are peeled, sliced and placed on top of the steamed glutinous rice. Lastly, the caramel sauce is poured over it and ready to be served. hmm...i find the glutinous rice too hard...expected because i do not have much understanding on glutinous rice and it was my first time preparing it...hee! I also realized that the most difficult part of this dish is preparing the glutinous rice. You have to get the right amount of water to be added, look out for the timing, fire and holding time in order to get a glutinous rice with the right moistness and softness! Cooking is indeed a test for "alertness" and patience!

Below are the Cinnamon Raisins Bread Roll i baked three weeks ago....after seeing the juniors making them in the FPP for the TP Applied Science School Open House, i had the urge to get into some breadmaking! Apart from the bread baked with my team during Food Processing Lab in year 2, this was my virgin attempt to make bread! haha! I do not have much understanding and hands on in bread making as i'm more into cakes. Therefore, i have decided to explore more on this area during my free time! (Ingredients were bought from Poon Huat: Bread flour, shortening, dry instant yeasts, raisins, cinnamon powder, bread improver (sweet breads) and brown sugar.) Since i was at Poon Huat, i also bought icing sugar, butter, chocolate rice and cocoa powder. These are for making chocolate cake for my sis who is a chocolate lover!!

My mum and I loves cinnamon and raisins a lot! Thus, we gave our thumbs up for the breads..hee! However, my mum and sis felt that the bread was slightly tough and dry. It could be due to the proofing and fermentation conditions which could have caused excessive loss of moisture. One disadvantage of making bread at home is that there is no proofer with the right and controlled humidity and temperature for proofing and fermentation. When breads are left to proof at room temperature in the kitchen, problems most likely to arise are insufficient fermentation due to inappropriate temperature which would result in bland tasting bread without much flavor. Another problem is having dry bread crumbs due to excessive loss of moisture when dough is left to proof at ambient conditions. Although the outcome of the bread was not as perfect, considering it was my first attempt, i'm quite pleased with it. My mum and sis have been very encouraging too...always there to give me feedback on the food i prepared. They always tease me by saying that i can earn a living by selling bread and cakes...haha! ya...in my dream! oh for goodness sake! My baking skills are still not up to that standard!

Below are pics i took when i met up with my sisters after term test! We went to KBox Marina Sq to sing (too lazy to blog down my dissatisfaction with the management there!), had potato salad at Long John for lunch (the mustard sauce was nice!) and Grilled dory fillet at Hans (not bad! does not have the fishy smell!). We accompanied amanda to esplanade to collect the bday cake for her father! It was a black forest cake worth 30 over bucks but i feel it was worth it as the packaging was so lovely! Took some pics of those art pieces...super creative isn't it...they used wires to shape it into human figures....

...utterly saddened and shocked...

huven been blogging becoz MP has robbed away most of my time! managed to steal some time out to rest for the past few days...MP was on hold becoz karen hurt her toes very badly so din return back to sch for a "LONG" time.

came online today wif a sleepy yet relaxed mood...wanted to blog and post some happy stuffs such as the ham and mushroom quiche which i baked yest....(ya..my oven's finally back to normal le)...

Ham and Mushroom Quiche
(a modification from the origin recipe "Bacon and Mushroom Quiche)
(dun feel like commenting on the quiche part....perhaps other time ba)

...but i was utterly saddened by sm unpleasant and shocking news which i got to know jus a moment ago when i went to read lani's and ling's blog. omg...i feel like crying as i type along....=(

CY is a guy from my course...i only got to know him during year 2 sem 2....we were bench-mate in AdFS lab, tgt with Azuran, Khali and Shingo. I still rem them teasing each other and miss mah picking on him at every minute. Although we seldom talk and it's only those few 3-hr long practical sessions tat we worked tgt, i can sense tat he's a very easy-going, happy-go-lucky kind of person who nv fails to brighten his frens' day. I also know him as YW and EL's fren as i used to see them hang ard happily teasing each other. I smtimes envy them as i nv once enjoyed my days like they did in poly! i envy they got the company of real frens!

Jus this afternoon, i got to know that he had left us early on thur. my heart sank when i confirmed wif lani. i feel pain in my heart. Even though i only talked to him a few times, i can feel tat my mood is affected when i know tat he had to leave early. y does good ppl always have to leave early? he's only 19 yr old!! We r all 19 yr old students waiting to graduate and realise our dream!! Isn't it unfair to bring him away to heaven now when he had so much more to enjoy for the next few decades??!!....i suddenly feel tat life is really short and unpredictable!

I feel very hurt and sad.....i hope this is the last time i hear this kind of news.....

To my coursemate, CY, i pray that you will be as happy as u were in sch in tat place called Heaven. RIP.

04 October 2006

....BAD DAY!

...feel demoralized, inferior, stupid, tired, confused, silly, disappointed, angry, frustrated, sad...sad..sad..SAD! =( i'm feeling really down..i mean DOWN! DOWN!!

i feel like dying....argh~!!

the birthday trail started wif my dear sister......................

on 21st August 2006, 12:00 am....................

My future brother-in-law bought this cake from four leaf....specially for his beloved girlfriend (my sister lah!..haha!). Love love love~~~! It's a mango mousse cake with fresh strawberry and mango toppings! Delicious neh! I wanted to take a pic of the cake with candles...but hp not enuft space! boo!

on 26th August 2006.......mummy's birthday.............

My family, including J, had dinner at the famous "Pang Xie Da Wang" in AMK to celebrate mummy's birthday! yeah...papa's treat! good husband nehz...hee! This dish is called creamy crab. We also ordered the "pang xie mee fen tang" which tasted so heavenly that i wished for more! The soup was very additive...creamy because milk was added and had obvious peppery note which brings out the fragrance of the whole dish! woo! I give it 4 out of 5. I din give full marks becoz it's too oily...hee! I highly recommend u all to try out this super duper delicious dish...especially to those who love creamy dishes, u should not miss it!

On top of that, we ordered side dishes like green vegetables with mushrooms and another of their speciality, fried tofu.....

The fried tofu was soft inside and crispy outside. If i'm not wrong, the tofu is made up of prawns, shallots, spring onions and those flours that is used to make fish balls (i'm not sure wat that kind of flour is called...any idea?..hee!) perhaps also some other secret ingredients! haha! the tofu was deeped in batter and covered with bread crumbs before putting into extremely high temperature oil. the bread crumbs adds crispiness, fragrance and extra mouthfeel. i will give it 3.5 out of 5...hee!

den when we reached home....ooo...there's cake! birthday will be meaningless without cake rite!! haha! Proudly presents Tiramisu cake (chocolate and cheese) from Secret hmm....oh gosh! i suddenly can't rem wat's the brand name...oops! when i rem i will update again....hee! Pardon my short term memory!...........

so with tat cake, the celebration for my mummy's birthday comes to an end...!

now it's my turn! yeah....! On 9th Sept 2006, Saturday........

i had kbox session wif my gang...my sistas lah! wendy, amanda and yichun. shitty yit hann overslept and lin have to work. but nvm...i have my sistas! haha....oh! they actually hide the cake at one corner with bags and newspapers covering over it....but i itchy hand go and take the papers to read....ya...i spoilt the whole surprise myself!! haiyaya! they sang bday song....den chun video taped the whole celebration...yeah yeah! thanks alot sistas!! too bad my hp no more space...have to wait for wendy to send me the pic and the videos....hehehe! oh! the cake they bought from Breadtalk was Tiramisu which was one of my favourite! Thank you very much!

On 12th September, 12:00 am....which was my birthday!!...yeah!.............

my sister bought black forest from Polar....

1, 2, 3 blow!! and that ended my birthday! haiyaya...have to wait for another year again! boo!

This year's bday was more happening den last year which was a gd thg...it showed my wish for a better year came true! this yr really seems a better year...at least i get closer wif my gp of gang again...i find myself again and most importantly, i learnt to be happier! yup...and i shall continue to maintain tat kind of life!

My birthday wish: I wish for happiness and good health in everyone!!

Troubled troubled TROUBLED!!!!! A bad start to my MP!

on mon, we had MP briefing regarding MP selection and grouping. lecturers made it compulsory that each group must have 3 members! Y??!! i dun see the point of having 3 members?! isn't 2 members enuft?! and they will put in anyone without gp into those incomplete gp! MP is abt choosing the rite ppl which we feel comfortable working wif! wat if the third person they add into the gp is someone which cannot work wif?!! den the gp will suffer! y can't the lecturers be flexible??! damn! this is making all of us crazy! because of this, i became a selfish, despicable and unprincipled person.

i asked my fren from the other gp to join karen and me for MP since she is more comfortable working wif us and moreover, karen wanted her to join us initially. well...i also wanted her to join us coz i worked wif her before and she's really an effective team mate who will put projects as her top piority. so i approached her on mon nite and she was quite hesistant at first because she has commited to another gp....hmm..guess wat?! it's HL's gp! omg!! i knew that long ago but i also heard recently that miss mah's project for them was cancelled or wat. moreover, lecturers did mention that all gps previously submitted will be disregarded. tat's y i thought it's ok tat PY can back out and join us instead. i know very well tat PY is a sweet and innocent gal who will not hurt anyone. tat's y i asked her to think carefully and if she's really more comfortable working wif us, i will do the talking. afterall, i am already on extremely bad terms wif HL! and my pt of view is that MP is a very important element of the whole diploma, everyone shld be given a chance to choose the gp they want to work wif! PY shld be given a chance to choose! In the end PY agreeded but i know she feel very bad abt it. haiz...thinking of it...before MP start, so many unhappy thgs have happened le....i dunno when MP start, how will my other frens think of me??!! dunno if HH, cynthia and yean fang will be angry wif me? needless to say, HL hates me even more now...she's been giving me those sucky kind of attitude and face like i owe her alot! well...seems like i really owe her alot now! BUT BUT BUT wat abt wat she did to me??!! being psychologically tortured by her for almost one yr! and smthg to add on....S told me when she asked HL who are her gp members, HL replied telling her the members plus added "is it SOMEONE sent u to ask?" see that?! she think of me so badly! she always think only the bad side of others! wat abt herself??!! I HATE HER!!! but becoz of this incident, i became in debt to her!! i am feeling really really troubled these days...i dunno wat i did was correct or wrong?! was i really wrong?!! =(

Back to secondary school times.....i miss them!!

yest nite was the most enjoyable nite i had eversince these three years after graduation from secondary school. finally met up for dinner! guess who turned up?!! wooo....yi chun, hann zai and AND AMANDA and WENDY were there!!! so happy to see them ard! huven been meeting up with all of them inclduing chun and hann for the past few weeks...it's really rare to have everybody present for the dinner at pizza hut, cwp. we ordered the family set which consisted of two regular pizzas, 5 bowls of soup and a jug of soft drink. As three big eaters hann, wendy and amanda were there (oops! pardon me! wahaha!), we ordered the side dish spicy drumblets to fill up their stomach...k all our stomach k! wahaha! we chatted and teased each other like wat we used to do in our secondary school days....it brought back some memories...how time flies! xiang dan nian (thinking back den..)...we were only16 yrs old...and now, yr 2006, we r 19 already! Old old old...time is running out...oh no! i huven gotten a bf yet..wahaha! nah..jk!..boo!

oya! i realised our characters din change much..haha! except that wendy became more "women"! hehe....oh! one major change among us....the gals put on weight le whereas the only guy, mr lai, slimmed down alot! wah seh...unfair! how he managed to do tat! envy him lehz! nvm...gals..let's jia you! wahaha!

before leaving pizza hut, we took some pics (below). realised that mr lai was not there?...haha...he was the man of the day lehz! he "voluteered to make the payment (as in we give him the money and he bring it to the cashier) and take pic of us gals...hee...GENTLEMAN lehz! =X

after the sumptuous dinner we went to party world at civic center. too bad there were no vacant rooms. we had no choice but to sing hall lor...each of us paid $13+. got tibits and drinks but din get to sing much of the songs....too bad. but nvm...though i was tired, i enjoyed the time there as all my frens were ard! i simply love the accompany of my frens! wendy and amanda, i know very clearly that both of u are trying to make me feel that u all do cherish our friendship...thanks! hmm i hope my feelings are accurate?!..hee! sorry if i appeared cold or very sian coz i'm really tired after whole day of work! Thanks alot gals!

left the place at ard 11 pm. hann and me took the same train back...by right he shld alight at yishun, to show that he is a GENTLEMAN, he "reluntantly" agreeded to accompany me to AMK den take two stations back...wahaha! thanks arh! it's been long since we had a one to one talk. though he's been very into his NS and zhu zhu club life, he's still my buddy! i will still regard him as one even if he does not!! (as if! will kill him...!) wahaha!

STRESSED~!

argh! i feel very stressed now!!! been sitting in front of the lap top for the whole day doing research, reports, research, reports! there's so many thgs to do after SIP! first is sip report...i dunno how to go about writing the company tasks..it's not stated clearly in the study guide!! how wld i know wat it means by "a technical description of the task(s) assigned"? a breif one? or a very detailed one...but how to squeeze within 8 pages (inclusive of other sections)? oh man! this is freaking me out! and the stomach cramps is making me feel worse! bad day bad day!
then next is food safety virtual report to be due in a week's time?..i think so....again so much info to be included but limited to one page. boo! then food safety HACCP templates are making me go ding dong! yes no yes no...is this a CCP..no it's not...blah blah...and y say it is not a HACCP...blah blah....coz i say so ^&*(**%#%$#%! woosh! den so much research to do on the critical limits and legislation of those food ingredients...on and on non stop!
And worse, i blur blur replied "yes...ok..np!" to my manager when he called to ask if i can go back to work....wahaha! but i din asked him when to start work....guess he will let me know yea =X. so which means i have less time to work on FS and SIP report?! ans me am i looking for more stress and trouble?! oh gosh...
oh..and two person sms me good nite msges jus now....he and chun....but i replied only to one....hee....thanks!
tmr will be meeting my gpmates in sch to do the HACCP tgt...hopefully we can complete the templates!
..........i jus hope that thgs will turn better soon.....(where's my gurdian angel?!)

I NEED LOTSA $$$$MONEY$$$$!!

heya! to those who loves baking to the extent that u can sacrifice anything for the sake of it, check this out! http://www.creativeculinaire.com/about.html
scrolling through the courses offered, i feel that it is pretty worth it bacause the theory and practical covered are quite competent. and they will definitely serve as an add-0n to what we are learning in FoodScience!
However, given my current financial status (a diploma undergraduate without a stable job) , 300 bucks for a course is still considered expensive...haiz. Sometimes, i really wish that i'm born with a rich background! then money will not become an obstacle in my learning journey! but ppl who knows me well will know that i dun like to use my parent's money unless really left with no choice! It doesn't feel good having others to pay for me too!
Who is willing to be my guardian angel cum financial sponsorer?! wahaha! =X
